It's TIME...

Finally! Today was Molly's first day of kindergarten. I'll tell you, this girl has been ready for awhile. She's had her outfit picked out. Her backpack ready. Gifts wrapped for Mrs T. It was a little strange walking home from the school without her this morning. A little sad, a little excited. For me, but mostly for her. She needs this time away from her siblings and out of the house. It will make her really happy...and a happier Molly makes for a happier Amy.

Look at that face! Honestly, after a summer filled with lots of pouting, this face makes me SO happy.

She really could hardly contain herself. She bounced all the way to school. It was hard for me to put my camera down. Her sisters were really excited for her too. Oh man, sweet girls.

She looks so tiny. She's such a big girl now, yet still so little. I know she will do well at school. I warned Mrs. T about her anger management issues. I don't think she'll really see them though. Molly KNOWS how to be a really good girl. She just opts not to sometimes at home. She is very respectful of authority. She is bright. She is happy. I think school will be just the thing for her.

Lizzy and Emily are in 5th grade. They are together in class...once again. In 2nd grade, they told me they wanted to be split up...then they changed their minds. They have been together since they started school and I am just fine with it. I love it actually. They are completely capable of doing it alone, but why? They love eachother. I love that they have their truest friend just a few desks over.

They are so responsible. I never even have to ask them if they have homework. They go straight to the kitchen table when they get home. They don't even get themselves snacks until they have finished their homework. I hope that never changes. I think it may be in their nature.

Alex is in Junior High. He plays the trumpet in the band. And...he finally has art classes. His teacher is VERY free-spirited. I don't really care, as long as she fosters his abilities. He is amazing. I worried SO much about the whole middle school thing. Ask anyone who knows me. I talked about it...a lot. I asked lots of questions. I stressed. AND, once again, I underestimated my kids. Alex has loved it so far. He loves the bus. Lunch. His teachers. His new friends. All the things I lost sleep over. He makes me really proud. I miss them. The house is really quiet. I know I'll get used to it, and totally dig it, but it's a change, and you know how I feel about that.

I don't have to tell you that your kids are so beautiful, inside and out, but I will. :) Not only that, but they're the sweetest things, too. Molly looks so genuinely happy. I love watching her from behind in primary...just an angel.
